Original featured articles dedicated to the anniversaries of famous international longest-running musical theatre productions, which include exclusive interviews with their creators (composers, lyricists, dramatists). To be able to prepare the special essays/interviews for The Theatre Times, I collaborated with the legendary creators of these shows, such as: Musical "Miss Saigon" - 35th anniversary - composer Claude-Michel Schönberg; Rock-opera "Starmania" - 45th anniversary - composer and musical director of the revival Victor Le Masne; Musical "The Little Mermaid" - 35th anniversary of the Disney Animated Movie and 15th anniversary of the Broadway production - composer Alan Menken; Musical "Mozart" - 25th anniversary - composer Sylvester Levay/ lyricist Michael Kunze; Musical "Evita" - 45th anniversary, Musical "Chess" - 40th anniversary - lyricist Tim Rice.
The main goal of this project (the series of articles by me, Lisa Monde, celebrating the anniversaries of the aforementioned "hit-musicals", as well as such shows as Wicked, Starlight Express, The Phantom of the Opera etc.) was to expand the understanding of the process of creation and the stage life of famous musicals within the English speaking world and the world of European Musical Theatre, familiarize the readers with the opinions of creators of musicals on the relevance of their work in the modern world, emphasize the issue of adaptation (linguistic and cultural) of the musical theatre shows for the spectators all around the world. All published articles stayed in the Top 10 Most Popular articles on the website for an extended period of time.
The online portal as a form of digital journalism allows to efficiently publish the material, reach out to the audience of readers from all around the world. Also, I was able to use various formats of presentation of multimedia information - photos, video reels, as well as audio samples that were included in the articles, in particular it was made possible by the interactive interface technology.
Due to the digital form of presentation of the given material, the genre and format merged, creating a new form : the newscasting, informational, essay, review, interview elements - all came together.
