The 2024 Dapi Straw and Pickled Mustard Festival embraced the concept that “the entire village is a living art museum,” reimagining rural life through branding, storytelling, and experience design. By transforming rice fields and village corners into immersive cultural spaces, the festival invited people to walk, touch, and participate—connecting directly with the spirit of the land.
Every aspect of the event was crafted using locally sourced straw. From large-scale installations and interactive games to handmade products and regional cuisine, the materials reflected a deep respect for nature, craftsmanship, and daily life aesthetics. Even pickled mustard—a beloved local product—became a symbolic link to memory and tradition, offering both flavor and meaning.
Sustainability was at the heart of the festival. All creative works followed eco-friendly principles—biodegradable, recyclable, and low-impact—demonstrating a harmonious balance between art and environment. A unified brand identity further strengthened Dapi’s image as a creative rural destination.
More than just a celebration, the festival is an ongoing cultural platform. It brings together artists, students, and local residents to co-create, learn, and grow. In 2024, the event welcomed over 20,000 participants—six times more than the previous year—boosting visibility, tourism, and community pride.
